A successful businessman once shared an incident with me. His company organised a one-day specialised workshop for engineers. Around 100 participants registered, and experts were invited all the way from abroad. Elaborate arrangements were made—venue, refreshments, everything. On the day of the seminar, only 5 people turned up. He spoke of the embarrassment, the stress, and the sadness—especially after inviting experts from another country and witnessing such a poor response.

Sadly, this is not an isolated incident. Many who organise seminars or events experience the same thing. Some participants casually change plans… some even say they overslept!

Now, pause for a moment and reflect… when we do not honour our commitments, are we causing stress, disappointment—even sadness? Yes. Are we wasting resources—time, effort, food? Yes. These are the seeds we sow. And the law of life is simple: what you sow, you reap—often multiplied.

So next time, think twice before giving a commitment. And if, for a genuine reason, you cannot honour it—communicate in time.
